On a final note, let's not forget that camDown and that's the no lie!
She may play Number 67 on Netflix’s new survival series “Squid Game,” but she’s gained a whole lot more fans since the show premiered around the world late last month.
HoYeon Jung has gained a whopping 15 million followers in just three weeks, making her the most-followed South Korean actress on Instagram, according to Forbes.
In “Squid Game” — a dystopian drama that follows cash-strapped characters competing in a series of violent games — Jung, 27, plays a North Korean defector trying to win money to retrieve family members trapped across the border.
On-screen, Jung is deliberately made to look dowdy and downcast — a stark contrast to how she appears on social media.
The Seoul-born beauty’s Instagram account is full of glamorous snaps that show her decked out in designer outfits while posing for high-fashion photoshoots.
“You are really just so beautiful,” one fan cooed about a photo uploaded on Wednesday that has already racked up more than 8 million likes and 41,000 comments.
Jung opened up about her growing number of Instagram followers in an interview with Herald Pop this week, saying: “In the beginning, I was very surprised as I checked in real-time. When I opened the app once, the number went up, and when I opened it again, it went up further.
“Just the fact that so many people around the world are showing their interest puts me in a good mood,” she said.
Jung has been modeling since the age of 16, and “Squid Game” is her first acting credit as far as television or film.
And while the new Netflix series may have brought her instant global fame, she has been known in South Korea for several years.
Back in 2013, she placed second on the fourth season of “Korea’s Next Top Model” and went on to grace the cover of Vogue Korea after attaining a degree from Dongduk Women’s University.
Given her modeling credentials, it’s no surprise Jung has just been named Louis Vuitton’s newest Global House Ambassador. She is also currently fronting Adidas’ new “adicolor” campaign.
And while she won’t return for the second season of “Squid Game,” Jung said she’s eager to continue acting.
“Acting in a new movie or series will be challenging, especially after ‘Squid Game,’ so I intend not to limit myself to a specific genre,” she told The Korea Herald this week.
“I am left with only one choice, which is to work extremely hard. I want to meet my fans for a long time, as a real actor.”
Meanwhile, “Squid Game” viewers who’ve developed a crush on Jung have been saddened to learn that she is off the market.
The stunner has been dating South Korean actor Lee Dong-hwi, 36, since 2016.
She told Korea Pop that her beau is thrilled by her overnight superstardom. “He’s very proud of the success of ‘Squid Game,'” she said.
“Since he’s also an actor … he cheers me on a lot, and he worries for me as well.”
