This Saturday Rodeo week kicks off with the annual rodeo parade, after that the annual Rodeo Revival (August 8-11) begins, and it concludes with the incredible 2021 rodeo.

You know what the most popular event in rodeo is? Bull riding is far and away the most popular. Here are some interesting facts about the event.

First, did you know a cowboy must stay on the bull for eight seconds and cannot touch the bull with their free hand? The cowboy gets a score based on his ride and how the bull preformed.

According to PBR.com the top bull in the world is WOOPAA with a season average of 46.68. The greatest help a cowboy has is the rodeo clown. Although in a rodeo there are three clowns, only two are there to protect the cowboy (the other one is for entertainment).

The non-entertainer clowns have one job and it is to do anything to keep the cowboy safe. Literally they will lay down their lives for the cowboy.

1 John 2:2- “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”

If the clown does his job then the cowboy walks away to continue to compete. In the same way, Jesus allows anyone who puts their trust in him, to walk away free and saved. This is called eternal life and is the possession of all who are truly saved.

Eternal life is an incredible relationship with God almighty and is not a religion. Make sure you have trusted Jesus Christ to receive the life he promises.

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” John 3: 36

The greatest needs Christians have is to give their lives to Jesus Christ and truly walk out the wonderful gift of eternal life. That is one of the reasons we are having a Community Rodeo Revival.

A revival is a time when you bring in a special speaker that challenges Christians in a series of meetings to decide to embrace all God has for them. The revival preacher this year is Harold Hunter who has preached all over America, written numerous books, and has been used to see numerous lives changed.

Do not miss the Rodeo Revival 2021 at First Baptist- Aug. 8 (10: 30 p.m., 6 p.m.)-11 (10 a.m., 7 p.m.). At 10 a.m. Aug. 9,10, and 11- Dr. Hunter will be gving a special session talking about prophecy and the times. Be sure and come out. Fbcsikeston.org for more information.
